Two people have been rescued from rocks after being cut off by the tide on the North Yorkshire coast.

Emergency services were called to Filey Country Park just before 15:00 GMT on Sunday to reports of two people stuck at the foot of a cliff.

North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service, which attended alongside the police and Coastguard, said one of them had sustained an ankle injury.

Using line rescue equipment, the Coastguard was assisted by fire crews to bring the casualties to the top of the cliff and they were then left in the care of paramedics.
