The parents of a teenage girl whose body was found in a park have paid tribute to their "kind and caring" daughter.

Emergency services were called to North Walsham's Memorial Park just after 07:00 GMT on 12 February, where they found the body of 17-year-old Courtney Morgan.

Norfolk Police has said her death was not believed to be suspicious.

In a statement released to police after an inquest into her death opened at Norfolk Coroner's Court, her parents said: "Courtney was truly one in a million."

'Unmistakable smile'

They continued: "She was the most kind and caring person to anyone she ever met.

"She was deeply loved in her community, whether she was proudly involved with the army cadets or volunteering to help younger children learn to skate at the local club.

"She brought light into every room - sometimes with a joke, sometimes with just her warm, unmistakable smile.

"We miss her more than words can ever express, and we will carry her love and laughter with us always."

A full inquest into the teenager's death is scheduled for 9 June.
