Two more men charged over man's body found in field
Police ScotlandOfficers investigating the murder of a man in Inverclyde have arrested two more men.
The body of Robert Best, 50, was discovered near High Mathernock Farm near Kilmacolm on 11 November, hours after he had been reported missing from Greenock.
A 36-year-old man has been charged in connection with the death and was due to appear at Greenock Sheriff Court on Thursday while a 25-year-old man has been charged in connection with attempting to pervert the course of justice. He is due to appear in court at a later date.
Two men, aged 44 and 51, and two women aged, 41 and 64, were previously arrested and charged in connection with the investigation and have already appeared in court.
Police previously said they were looking into a report of a disturbance in Lansbury Street, Greenock, which took place between 23:00 on Monday and 03:00 on Tuesday.
A spokesperson said inquiries were ongoing.
