Man, 78, charged with woman's murder

A 78-year-old man has been charged with murder after a woman's body was found at a house in Rugby.

Surendra Patel was arrested last week after the woman, who was in her 70s, was discovered at the property in Aqua Place.

Officers from Warwickshire Police were called to the property at about 09:40 BST, on 8 October.

Mr Patel, of Aqua Place, has now been charged following investigations into the woman's death.

He is due to appear before magistrates on Monday.
