A healthcare assistant has denied neglecting her duties on the day a patient died at a mental health facility in Nottingham.

Sylvia Quaye-Mensah was working at Highbury Hospital on 12 September 2022, when 19-year-old Louise Furlong died.

The 41-year-old, of Monsall Avenue in Ilkeston, Derbyshire, denied one count of misconduct in a public office and three counts of ill treatment or neglect by a care worker during an appearance at Nottingham Crown Court on Thursday.

She was released on bail ahead of a trial, which is set to begin from 17 November.
