Planned closures on county's roads to be aware of
GoogleHerefordshire Council has revealed the latest round of road closures, for works due to be carried out by an external contractor on smaller routes around the county.
The B4385, from Leintwardine to the Shropshire border near Marlow, is scheduled to close between 19 and 23 January.
The C1004 Ford Street, between the hamlet of Stapleton and the Welsh border at Presteigne, is due to close between 19 and 27 January.
The southern section of the C1172 Beggars Ash, between Ledbury and Wellington Heath, will close on 27 and 28 January.
The C1258 Symonds Yat Top Road, within the Wye Valley National Landscape, is due to close between 26 January and 6 February.
Further closures are also scheduled for the unclassified Coombe Lane, The Barrow, Greenhill, Nupend Lane, all near Cradley in the east of the county, and between Garway and Trolway in the southwest.
The council said the contract with Tarmac Trading Ltd for the surface dressing preparation works was worth £771,760.65 – a figure which was "likely to be significantly lower than that of the other suppliers".
This comes out of a £5.9-million roads funding package from the Department for Transport, of which £4.5 million has already been spent on recent roadworks around the county.
This news was gathered by the Local Democracy Reporting Service which covers councils and other public service organisations.
