Dispute over planned cuts at UHI resolved
UHIThe University of the Highlands and Islands (UHI) and University and College Union (UCU) say they have resolved a dispute about proposed savings.
The planned cuts included the use of compulsory redundancies within UHI's Inverness-headquartered executive office.
Earlier this year there were concerns 16 jobs were at risk as part of efforts to make savings of about £2m.
The organisations said they had reached an agreement, with UCU adding that it planned to take no further industrial action.
A UHI spokesperson said: "The university will continue to engage constructively with the UHI UCU branch on a range of issues that have been raised.
"While the higher education sector is currently facing significant challenges, UHI remains committed to working with the trade union in support of colleagues."
The union said it remained committed to protecting jobs.
A spokesperson added: "We are satisfied that we have been able to resolve this industrial dispute constructively and successfully, reaching an agreement that will allow us to work positively with our employer in several areas of key importance to our members."
