An HGV carrying lemonade has crashed off the M1 and overturned.

Emergency services were called shortly before 11:00 GMT to reports the lorry had come off the motorway near to the slip road at Junction 35 for Thorpe Hesley.

National Highways said the M1 was initially closed southbound between junctions 35 and 34, but three lanes had since reopened. A spokesperson said the slip road, however, remained closed "for recovery and clean-up".

A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police said the driver was take to hospital for treatment, but that his injuries were "not thought to be life-threatening or life-changing".
