Three charged with murder over stabbing near library
West Midlands PoliceA teenage man and two boys have been charged with murder over the stabbing of an 18-year-old during disorder near a library.
Michael Ababio was stabbed on Broad Street, near Foleshill Library in Coventry, at about 21:40 GMT on 22 February and died the following morning.
West Midlands Police said Mahad Mohammed, 19, had been charged with murder and attempted murder.
Two 17-year-old boys, who cannot be named due to their ages, were also charged with murder and attempted murder.
They were remanded in custody and were due to appear before Coventry Magistrates Court on Saturday.
Three other people arrested earlier this week on suspicion of assisting an offender - a girl aged 17, a woman aged 19 and a man aged 23 - have all been released on bail.
Det Insp Nigel Box said officers were continuing to gather evidence to understand what had happened.
"Michael's family have been updated and we continue to support them," he said of the charges.
The force's major incident public portal was still open, enabling anyone with photos or video to send them directly to the police.
