Electric vehicle charging facilities are to be installed at hospitals in Hull and Cottingham.

There will be eight new charging stations for ambulances at Hull Royal Infirmary's emergency department and two for ambulances and other fleet vehicles at the Castle Hill Hospital cardiology unit.

Four solar and wind-powered EV charging stations will also be installed outside the day surgery unit at Castle Hill Hospital.

The work comes after the NHS Humber Health Partnership secured more than £730,000 from the Department of Transport.

The trust said it would continue to apply for further funding, with the hope of rolling out the technology across other sites in North Lincolnshire and Goole.
