Man arrested after woman's body found in village

A man has been arrested after a woman's body was discovered at an address in Staffordshire.

The woman, who was in her 30s, was discovered at Holts Lane in Tutbury at about 11:45 BST on Saturday morning, according to Staffordshire Police.

Despite the best efforts of paramedics, she was confirmed dead at the scene. Her next of kin have been informed and will be supported by specially-trained officers.

A force spokesperson said a 41-year-old man from Tutbury had been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter and is in custody for questioning.

The spokesperson added: "We are currently treating the death as unexplained whilst we gather further evidence.

"This morning officers will be conducting specialist searches inside and outside the address.

"Further house to house inquiries will be taking place to identify CCTV opportunities and to gather any witness statements."
