A private school's plan to use a former charity outreach facility as a second campus has been unanimously approved by councillors.

Hurst Lodge School applied for retrospective permission to use The Woodlands and the land around it in Upper Broadmoor Road in Crowthorne for its pupils.

The application was brought to Bracknell Forest Council's planning committee on Thursday because 23 people objected over concerns including increased traffic on nearby roads.

The main building at The Woodlands was previously used as Broadmoor Hospital superintendent's house and more recently as a charity's outreach centre for children with life-limiting conditions.

The school's principal campus is in Yateley, Hampshire.

A plan to use a site previously used by the school in Ascot for a 10-bedroom mansion was rejected in March.
