Arrest as woman seriously injured in crash
GoogleA man has been arrested after a woman was left with "life-altering injuries" in a crash on the A606 in Nottinghamshire.
Police said a Vauxhall Astra and Vauxhall Mokka were involved in the collision on Melton Road near Normanton-on-the-Wolds at about 20:20 GMT on Saturday.
The passenger in the Astra, a 24-year-old woman, was taken to hospital with "serious" injuries and remained there in a "critical but stable" condition, Nottinghamshire Police said.
At the crash scene, officers arrested a 26-year-old man - whom they said was driving the Astra - on suspicion of dangerous driving and driving while unfit through drink or drugs.
The force said he was in a stable condition in hospital.
A 34-year-old man, who was driving the Mokka, was checked over in hospital but had since been released.
Det Sgt Charlotte Henson said: "This was a serious incident and our inquiries remain ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
"We would really like to hear from anyone who witnessed this collision or any drivers who may have recorded dashcam footage relating to the incident and the vehicles involved."
