A section of the M1 has been reopened after a crash in Leicestershire.

Traffic was halted on the southbound side of the motorway, between junctions 22 at Markfield and 21a at Leicester, near the A46, shortly before 13:30 BST on Tuesday.

The road was fully reopened at about 14:15, National Highways said.

Motorists were previously warned of more than a mile and a half of congestion on approach.
