Man, 20, stabbed at fireworks display

A 20-year-old man was stabbed at the Donnington Bonfire in Telford on Saturday night.

West Mercia Police said officers were called to a fireworks display on a playing field on Wellington Road, Donnington, at about 20:30 GMT.

The injured man was taken to the Royal Stoke University Hospital, where he remains in a stable condition, the force added.

Police said an investigation was under way, and appealed for witnesses to come forward.
