Man arrested after arson attack at house

The child was uninjured and the man was taken to hospital for treatment for injuries which are not believed to be life threatening.

Two people, including a child, were inside a house during an arson attack in County Londonderry, the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) have said.

Police said they received a report of a fire at a property in Rockview Park, Moneymore, shortly before 14:00 GMT on Thursday. Fire crews went to the scene and put out the blaze.

The child was uninjured but a man was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. A number of residents in neighbouring properties had to be moved out of their homes.

A man in his 30s has been arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life.
