A 40-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the death of another man in a South Lanarkshire village.

The 39-year-old man was found dead on Hope Road, Kirkmuirhill, near Lanark, at about 03:30 on Sunday.

He has now been named as Adam Lawson, who was from the local area. His family have been informed.

Police said inquiries were ongoing.
