Police found £325,000 worth of cash and gold, as well as drugs

Police raids in Birmingham have seen £150,000 of gold bars and £175,000 in cash seized.

Three arrests were made during the raids on Alum Rock Road and Yardley Wood Road, on Thursday.

Searches also uncovered half a million doses of class A, B and C drugs, West Midlands Police confirmed.

The suspects, aged 35, 41 and 46, were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to supply controlled drugs and prescription-only medicines, selling, supplying and offering to sell or supply unauthorised medical products and money laundering.

They remain in custody for questioning.

The operation was carried out with the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency as part of an investigation into drug dealing and supply of medicines, police said.
