Victor Duncan has been named as the man who died in the crash on Shetland

A cyclist who died in a crash on Shetland was a "loving husband and father", relatives have said.

Victor Duncan, 51, has been named as the man who died in the collision with a Ford Ranger on the B9074 in Trondra at about 22:00 on Saturday.

He had been taken to hospital, but died a short time later. The occupants of the Ford Ranger were not injured.

Police have appealed for anyone who was in the area at the time and may have information to come forward.

Sgt Ewan Calder said: "My thoughts are with the family and friends of Mr Duncan and we continue to offer support to them.

"I'd like to thank the local community for their patience and understanding while inquiries were carried out. We appreciate this is the main route to and from the south west of the island and there was significant disruption with the closure.

"Our inquiries remain ongoing and I'd ask anyone with information, who has not already spoken to police, to come forward."
