Hospital closed following overnight flooding
GoogleA hospital has been forced to shut a number of services after suffering "significant" flooding overnight.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust confirmed Lymington Hospital, including its Urgent Treatment Centre, have been closed on Wednesday.
It said the water leak affected the heating and water supply to the building but teams were on site working to resolve the issue and it was hopeful most of its services will resume later this week.
The trust said inpatient care is able to continue safely but it advised people not to attend the hospital unless they were contacted by their healthcare team directly.
A spokesperson said: "Unfortunately the majority of our outpatient clinics, diagnostics, and elective procedures have had to be cancelled today. Patients have been contacted to rebook their appointments and we are working to triage our most urgent patients to limit any delays to their care.
"Additionally, we are unable to accept visitors to our inpatient wards today. Instead, we would encourage family and friends to contact the relevant ward for an update on their loved ones' care."
