Armed police called to attack as weapons found
GoogleArmed police were called to reports of an attack at a house after weapons were found to be inside the home.
Officers were first called out to the assault on Peter's Close in Dawley, Telford, shortly before 01:00 GMT on Sunday, West Mercia Police said.
It became clear when they arrived that there were weapons inside the house, the force said, and their armed unit was then sent as a precaution.
Officers went into the home at about 07:30 GMT and a man, 56, was arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and possession of an offensive weapon in a private place.
One person was hurt in the initial attack, police said, but his injuries were not believed to be serious.
Det Insp Richard Davies said the case was "contained" and there was no wider threat to the community.
He said there would be more police patrols in the area on Sunday while officers' inquiries continued.
