A 35-year-old man has been charged with rape after a woman was allegedly attacked in the Hyde Park area of Leeds on Thursday.

Uvesh Vahora was due to appear before Leeds Magistrates' Court on Monday.

Police said the incident reportedly happened at around 22:00 BST on Autumn Avenue.

The victim had been walking to a nearby shop at the time, officers added.
