A public toilet in Godalming has scooped a prize at the National Loo of the Year Awards.

The Crown Court Toilets have made it into the Top 20 "Premier League" of Local Authority Public Toilets in the UK.

Godalming Town Council took over the running of the toilets in 2018 to save them from closure.

The toilets received an overall Platinum Award as well as a Platinum Plus Award for accessibility.

The council's chief executive Andy Jefferey said: "This award is a testament to the hard work, care, and collaboration of everyone involved in the project.

"We are proud that Godalming's facilities are being recognised at a national level".
