Man arrested after woman dies in crash

A man has been arrested after a woman was killed in a crash.

A grey Audi crashed on Barton Gate in Barton-under-Needwood, Staffordshire, at about 22:45 GMT on Saturday.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene and specialist officers have been supporting her family, Staffordshire Police said.

A 32-year-old man from Great Wyrley, who was taken to hospital with serious injuries, was later arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

A police spokesperson said officers were appealing for anyone with CCTV, doorbell or dashcam footage of the area at the time to contact them.
