The family of a man who was found dead at a house in Staffordshire say he had a "heart of gold".

Lee Mathers, 56, was found at a property on Park Avenue in Werrington on the evening of 26 November.

Two 31-year-old men, a 29-year-old man, a 22-year-old woman and a 16-year-old boy, all from the Stoke-on-Trent area, have been arrested on suspicion of murder, Staffordshire Police said.

They have all been released on conditional bail while inquiries continue.

Mr Mathers' family said he was a "very popular local man," who would "help anyone in their time of need".

In a statement, they said they "miss him deeply" and were "absolutely devastated as a family".
