Five people arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a man in Staffordshire have been released on bail.

Officers were called to a house on Park Avenue in Werrington shortly after 21:00 GMT on Wednesday.

Staffordshire Police said a man in his 50s was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two men aged 31, a man aged 29, a 22-year-old woman and a 16-year-old boy, all from the Stoke-on-Trent area, were on conditional bail as the investigation continued. The incident has been referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) due to police contact.

The force said the man's next of kin continued to be supported by specialist officers.
