Jersey Water head of water quality Jeanette Sheldon said the firm would continue trialling treatment solutions

A water company has said its tests show it is fully compliant with water quality regulations.

Jersey Water said more than 12,900 tests were conducted between 1 October 2024 and 20 September 2025 for its 2025 Water Quality Report.

It said samples were taken from drinking water leaving the utility's treatment works, its treated water storage reservoirs and at customers' taps, showing 100% complaince.

Jersey Water chief executive Helier Smith said: "Over the past decade, we have maintained high levels of water quality, and this year was no exception, with nearly 13,000 tests confirming 100% compliance with regulatory standards."

In September the Government of Jersey unveiled an action plan for islanders affected by Perfluoroalkyl and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) located in groundwater near Jersey Airport.

Mr Smith said islanders could have confidence in Jersey's water supply.

"We continue to work with the government and other agencies on a broader, island-wide approach to managing threats to water quality, such as PFAS, nitrates and other substances," he said.

Jeanette Sheldon, head of water quality, said: "The independent panel of international experts looking at PFAS across Jersey has stated 'there is no cause for concern' with the current supply of mains drinking water and recommendations for the government to adopt specific water quality regulations for PFAS were 'precautionary'.

"We support steps to introduce a new limit and, in the meantime, will continue our work to trial treatment solutions so that we maintain high levels of water quality both now and into the future."
