A missing dog that was spotted part way down a cliff has been rescued by a coastguard team.

Boscastle Coastguard said they were paged at 10:45 GMT on Monday to reports of the dog stuck at Trebarwith, Cornwall.

It said the dog, which had been missing since Sunday, was seen on a narrow cliff ledge around halfway down an "approximately 100ft (30.48m) cliff" by a member of the public.

It added a qualified cliff technician was lowered to the dog, which was found to be uninjured and "very pleased to see the coastguard team".

Boscastle Coastguard said the Polzeath Coastguard also attended to support them.

The dog was briefly assessed and then returned to the cliff top, where it was reunited with its owners.
