An HGV driver has been charged with drink-driving after his lorry was involved in a road crash.

Ion Triboi, 51, a Moldovan national, had been remanded into custody and was due to appear before Salisbury Magistrates' Court on 6 April, Wiltshire Police said.

Officers said it related to an incident where a heavy goods vehicle overturned, blocking both lanes on the A303 east of Mere, Wiltshire, at about 08:00 GMT on Saturday.

There were no reported injuries, but Triboi was taken to hospital before being detained and charged, officers said.
