Thousands of runners have taken part in the second annual Kettering Half Marathon and 5km.

Sunday's event, which started and finished at Wicksteed Park, saw 1,989 runners complete the 13.1 mile (21.1km) half marathon, while a further 331 completing the 5,000m (3.1 miles)

After leaving the park, the half marathon route saw participants wind through the town centre and pass Boughton House before returning via Hanwood Park.

Among those taking part for good causes were four firefighters from the Northamptonshire town's fire station, who completed the distance in full fire kit in support of a former firefighter who is undergoing treatment for cancer.
