A pedestrian aged in his 20s has died after he was hit by a car.

It happened on Borough Road in Middlesbrough on Saturday evening at 22:05 GMT.

The 19-year-old driver of a Volkswagen Golf has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

Officers want to speak to anyone who witnessed or has relevant dashcam footage.
