Work to build a school's new multi-use building is under way as part of a council's drive to provide additional secondary school places.

The Piggott School in Wargrave will be able to accommodate another 230 pupils after work, including the hall, is completed.

The new building includes the main hall and dining area, plus a dedicated working space and staff office. Work completed on behalf of Wokingham Borough Council is on schedule.

Prue Bray, the council's executive member for children's services, said: "We want to ensure each child in our borough has access to education by providing fair opportunities for everyone which is why the council continues to invest in school facilities."
