Two children were taken to hospital after a bike they were riding was involved in a crash with the side of a car in Nottingham.

Emergency services were called to Southwark Street, Old Basford, at about 19:10 GMT on Monday.

Nottinghamshire Police said two people on the bike - a 13-year-old boy and a 10-year-old girl - were taken to hospital for treatment.

Neither of their injuries are currently believed to be life-altering and no arrests were made in connection to the incident, the force added.

Southwark Street was closed until about 21:30 and was reopened to traffic.
