Old nets to protect Ukrainians from drone strikes
PA MediaIslanders are being asked to donate spare fishing nets to help protect people against drone attacks in Ukraine.
A ban on certain sizes of mesh was introduced last week as part of changes to fishing laws, and so some nets are now illegal to use.
Jersey government's infrastructure department said that they could be "repurposed" to form part of Ukraine's "vital defence efforts", rather than be thrown away.
Islanders will be able to hand them over at either Marine Resources Workshop, La Collette (13:00-17:00 BST), and Howard Davis Farm (08:30-12:00 BST), on Friday 1 May.
