A broken water ride at a Center Parcs resort that caused "a small number of guests" to be injured has reopened following repairs.

Guests at the Sherwood Forest holiday park in Edwinstowe, Nottinghamshire, sustained injuries after a section of the Wild Water Rapids in the Subtropical Swimming Paradise area was damaged on 22 December.

The holiday firm previously said the guests were treated on site by first aiders for minor injuries.

The ride and outside pool were closed "as a precaution, following further investigation".

These reopened the following day apart from the damaged section, but following repairs, Center Parcs confirmed on Thursday that the ride had been fully restored.

The holiday firm has not said what caused the ride to be damaged.
