Police are appealing for anyone with information about Jafir Nazir's whereabouts to come forward

A £5,000 reward has been offered in the hunt for a suspect after a quad bike rider was pushed off his machine before being punched and stabbed in the head.

The victim was attacked on Monica Road in Small Heath, Birmingham, and suspect Jafir Nazir is wanted on suspicion of attempted murder, West Midlands Police said.

The force has launched an appeal for help find Nazir, 29, who officers want to speak to in connection with the attack, which happened at about 18:00 BST on 9 August last year.

As the victim continues to recover from his injuries, the Crimestoppers charity has offered the cash reward to anyone with information that leads to an arrest.

Alan Edwards, Crimestoppers West Midlands regional manager, said: "A violent crime has left a man seriously injured and Jafir Nazir remains wanted in connection with this horrific attack.

"We know some people may find it hard to speak directly to the police, and that's why Crimestoppers offers a completely anonymous alternative way to share what you know."
