Pet chihuahua dies in country park lake incident

A chihuahua has died after an incident at a country park near Gravesend, police say.

Kent Police said it was investigating after it was reported the pet was pulled from the lake in Shorne Woods Country Park and confirmed to have died.

Officers said the incident happened between 13:30 and 14:00 BST on Sunday and they were "carrying out enquiries to establish the full circumstances, including reviewing any possible CCTV".

Investigators asked anybody in the park who witnessed the incident to contact the force.
