Woman dies and another arrested after collision

A woman in her 70s has died and a 29-year-old woman has been arrested after a two-car collision in Worcestershire.

The crash between a white Citroen C3 and a red Honda Jazz occurred at the junction of Heath End Road and Farley Lane in Belbroughton, with West Midlands Ambulance Service (WMAS) called at 16:43 GMT.

WMAS said they found the woman, a passenger in one of the cars, in a critical condition and despite being given advanced life support, she was confirmed dead at the scene.

A 29-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, causing serious injury by dangerous driving, driving under the influence of drugs and driving whilst disqualified.

A man was also treated for serious injuries and taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham.

West Mercia Police would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision and from drivers who have dashcam footage from around the time it happened.
