'Overwhelming' response to triplet adoption plea
Parents And Children Together (PACT)An adoption charity says it has received an "overwhelming amount of interest" following an appeal to find a permanent home for three sisters.
Lily, Rose, and Violet – whose names have been changed to protect their identity - are triplet sisters who have been together since birth.
Reading-based Parents And Children Together (PACT) is seeking an adoptive family for the two identical twins and their fraternal sister, who are 16 months old and currently based in the south west of England.
The charity said it had received "hundreds of enquiries" since its appeal last week and "warmly welcomes" further interest.
Twins Rose and Violet have been diagnosed with a visual impairment and are registered as blind, while the charity says their sister Lily is doing well developmentally and reaching all expected milestones.
The charity says that despite their challenges, the sisters share an "incredible bond and bring joy to everyone who meets them".
Mandy Davies, assistant director of adoption services at PACT, previously said: "These three sisters have such a strong and loving connection, and it's vital that they can stay together in a family who will cherish and nurture them."
Parents And Children Together (PACT)PACT said "due to the high level of interest", it had issued the following statement: "Thank you to everyone who has been in touch about adopting Lily, Rose and Violet.
"We've received an overwhelming amount of interest and our team is currently working through all the enquiries.
"We warmly welcome further interest from anyone who would like to find our more and kindly ask for your patience while the team responds to everyone."
The charity previously acknowledged that not everyone was able to consider adopting three children in one go for a variety of reasons, but added it was "committed" to providing full support, training and guidance to potential adopters who stepped forward.
This includes ongoing advice, therapeutic services and access to PACT's online resource hub.
