Body found at derelict house 'there for some time'

An investigation into the unexplained death has been launched

A body has been found in a derelict property in Lancashire, with detectives beginning an investigation.

It was found at Blackburn Road in Rishton at about 12:34 BST on Saturday, Lancashire Police said.

The body "appears to have been there for some time" and formal identification has not yet taken place, the force added.

The death is currently being treated as unexplained and anyone with any information has been urged to contact police.
