Para surf team are seventh in world championships

Four surfers from Devon and Cornwall have helped team England place seventh in the world para surfing championships.

The 9th ISA World Para Surfing Championships took place at Huntington Beach, California, with more than 150 para surfers from 24 countries participating.

Charlotte Banfield, from Truro, James Price, from Torquay, and Suzanne Edwards and Harlum Lewis, both from Braunton, all took part in the week-long event.

Banfield earned a consecutive world title in the stand three category, while Edwards placed fourth in the prone (non-assist) division.

Price, who only started the sport in May, said he had scored on some of the biggest waves he had ever surfed.

Harlum Lewis, participating in his second world championships, also gave a strong performance.
