Man in hospital after being found seriously injured

Police are trying to establish how the man came to sustain the injuries

A man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after he was found on a road during the early hours, police say.

Devon and Cornwall Police said it was called to Halcyon Road, Newton Abbot, at about 02:00 GMT on Saturday after a man in his 20s was found hurt.

The force said the man remained in hospital and a road closure was in place. It said officers were trying to establish how the man came to sustain the injuries.

A police spokesperson asked for any witnesses to get in touch.
