Greenhouses shattered and plants burnt by blaze
Sherraleean WilsonAllotment owners are hoping to rebuild their pride and joy following a fire which burnt produce and shattered greenhouses.
A number of Norfolk fire crews were called to the blaze in the open on Front Way, King's Lynn, at about 17:30 BST on Thursday. The cause has yet to be revealed.
Carlos Fernandes took over his plot from a charity supporting disabled adults last year, and has been left wondering how he is going to afford the repairs.
He told the BBC his allotment had given him a sense of pride and purpose.
Clare Worden/BBC"It's mainly the greenhouse. All the glass was shattered," he said.
"When I took it over, this was like a jungle, and now I'm taking pride in what I do and I got my vegetables going, but they've all burnt.
"With the vegetables, because you grow your own it's the best thing you can do. It's pride, it's a pastime, it's a hobby, it's part of your life.
"It's a shame these things happen and then it's just sad, really."
Clare Worden/BBCNorfolk fire service said the blaze was extinguished at about 18:15.
The BBC has asked for further information, including what caused the fire.
