Special school's new classrooms ready for September

Two new permanent classrooms at a special school will be open in time for the new school year.

Rowan Gate Primary School in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire, has unveiled a permanent building to replace two temporary classrooms.

The building, which cost £1.6m, will cater for 140 pupils and will provide them with more space.

North Northamptonshire Council completed the project after successfully applying for Department for Education funding. It took 12 months to be completed.

Jason Smithers, leader of the council, said the authority was "committed to meeting the needs of children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities".
