On-demand bus service to be expanded
Worcestershire County CouncilA county's on-demand bus service is set to expand in November.
Worcestershire County Council said it would be introduced to areas including Hartlebury, Ombersley and surrounding rural communities.
In January, another zone would be added covering the Wyre Forest District, including Bewdley, Stourport, and Tenbury Wells, it said.
The on-demand service currently operates in Bromsgrove, Malvern and Wychavon.
Karl Perks, the councillor responsible for highways and transport, said: "This is a big step forward in providing a sustainable, affordable and user-friendly way to travel."
The council said in April work would begin to integrate the zones, allowing some travel between different areas.
The bus service can be booked through an app and runs from Monday to Saturday, from 07:00 to 19:00.
