A man whose disappearance led to a police appeal and searches has been found dead, police have confirmed.

Andrew Phillips, 66, was reported missing from his home in Droitwich, Worcestershire, in September.

Residents took part in the search for him, with lamp-posts and shopfronts decorated with missing person posters. People also shared appeals on social media.

Mr Phillips' body was found in Stoke Prior on 22 December, said West Mercia Police, and formal identification has now taken place. His death is not being treated as suspicious.

"Andrew's family have requested for their privacy to be respected at this difficult time," a police spokesperson added.
