Views sought on town square revamp
Millom Town Deal BoardA new community space could be created under proposed changes to a town square.
Plans for Market Square in Millom, Cumbria, form part of the Connecting Millom and Haverigg project under the £29.3m Town Deal initiative.
Cumberland Council, which is overseeing the scheme, is seeking views on two options which it said aimed to turn the square into "a more vibrant and welcoming space".
Drop-in events will take place at the Story Contracting Project Office in Market Square between 16:00 and 20:00 on 3 February and between 13:00 and 17:00 on 10 February.
The first option includes creating a new community space within the square for local events and would see the bus drop-off relocated.
The other option would involve works to the square to allow buses and other vehicles to enter and exit via separate points.
Both options would retain a similar number of car parking spaces, the local authority said.
David Savage, chair of Millom Town Deal Board, said: "This is a special opportunity for local residents to help shape the future of Millom's Market Square, ensuring it continues to meet the needs of our town for years to come."
Images of the proposals will be on display for two weeks from 2 February and an online survey will be available between 3 and 17 February.
