Woman taken to hospital after being hit by lorry

A woman has been taken to hospital after being struck by a lorry in Leicestershire.

Emergency services were called to Tamworth Road, Measham, just after 03:45 GMT on Friday.

Leicestershire Police said the woman was injured and was taken to hospital for treatment, but the extent of her injuries were not yet known.

No arrests have been made and officers remain at the scene, the force added.

Tamworth Road remains closed from Measham to the M42 roundabout in both directions. Motorists have been advised to take alternative routes.
