Ports of Jersey is proposing removing the deteriorating landing stage at the end of Gorey Pier

A planning application has been submitted to remove a pier's deteriorating landing stage.

The application, submitted by Ports of Jersey, proposes removing the landing at the end of Gorey Pier - the first step in protecting the Grade I structure.

Upper deck and support pillars are to be put forward for removal, alongside installation of temporary support bracing from the lower deck to the original pier structure, according to the planning application.

Subject to approval, works are planned to begin in March/April 2026, with completion before the summer season.

The works were expected to be carried out from the seaward side to help minimise disruption to pier-side activities.
