Tim Walton, also known as "TrikeSanta" has set himself a £15,000 fundraising goal for Acorns Children's Hospice

About 200 bikers kitted out in Santa suits are helping out a fellow biker who is close to raising £15,000 for a children's hospice.

Tim Walton, affectionatley known as Trike Santa, has been driving his converted Harley Davidson Trike through Worcestershire and Warwickshire for several years to raise funds.

To ensure he gets over over the fundraising finish line, the bikers are to parade up to Acorns Children's Hospice in Worcester on Saturday.

Those taking part are set to gather from 14:30 GMT on Saturday at the Harvester Timberdine. Mr Walton said he and his elves, in a sleigh at the back of his bike, would be at the hospice.

"And bring some cash for the buckets, the whole thing is for the hospice," he said.

"Every penny raised goes towards supporting the incredible work Acorns does for children and families.

"The more we can raise, the bigger the difference we make. We've set ourselves a big target this year, but with the support of our amazing community, we know it's within reach."

Acorns' area fundraiser Mel Hall described the event as "the best".

She said: "It's such good fun. He's great and an absolute legend, he really is.

"Tim's fallen in love with the charity and every year he comes and brings joy and magic to a lot of the children and surpasses himself.

"Every year he challenges himself to do better. Tim helps put the magic into Christmas, and that's what it's all about, the children."

Acorns has hospices based in Worcester, Walsall and Birmingham.
